The Alfa Romeo Tonale and the coveted Stelvio are part of the brand's shift towards connectivity and electrification and adding more SUVs to their lineup. My colleague Sean Nurse had the Tonale on test, and you can read his thoughts here.

Apart from being pretty good with families, the Alfa Romeo Tonale is geared up for the modern youth who want a stylish product that can handle seamless connectivity and provide an unmatched Alfa Romeo driving experience. Speaking of driving experience, powering the Tonale range is a 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine paired with a 48-volt P2 electric motor. The Tonale powertrain pushes out 118kW and 240Nm, combined with the 15kW and 55Nm the electric motor produces. Power is sent to the front wheels via the 7-speed Alfa Romeo TCT DCT gearbox. The Tonale can be driven in full electric mode at low speeds, like when you're parking and cruising. With this power available, can you tow with the Tonale?

Bellissima! But can you tow with the Alfa Romeo Tonale?

First off, does the Tonale, as sold in South Africa, even come fitted with a tow bar to begin with? No, it doesn't, but this can be retrofitted as an aftermarket dealer accessory. With this in mind, what are the towing capacities of the Tonale? You're looking at 750kg unbraked and 1250kg braked. Here are four other accessories you didn't know you needed on the Tonale. If you're happy with this and are keen on buying an Alfa Romeo Tonale, you can search AutoTrader for the latest used and new offerings and sell your car too.
