The maintenance and upkeep of a vehicle are critical aspects of motor vehicle ownership. The onus rests on the owner to ensure that their vehicle is serviced at the correct, manufacturer-recommended intervals to ensure that it performs as intended. These guidelines are constructed by engineers who take all the design and material specifications into account. The Toyota Land Cruiser 70 series, despite being rugged and hard-wearing, is still subjected to these service intervals.

The very nature of the Toyota Land Cruiser and its typical application and usage has lead Toyota to offer the service plan as an optional extra, and it isn't included in the advertised price. This doesn't change the fact that your Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series should be serviced once every 12-months, or every 10 000 km at a minimum, to ensure that it operates as intended.
It's important to note that the validity of your manufacturer warranty also relies on the vehicle being serviced at regular, manufacturer-recommended intervals. Failure to do so will invalidate your warranty.
Toyota Services
In addition to the service plan, customers can also choose to bolster their coverage with value-added services from Toyota themselves. Toyota offers extended service plans that can be purchased to include coverage for up to 10 years or 300 000 km. This will provide additional peace of mind and ensure that you're not left with any nasty bills when you take your Land Cruiser in for a service.
Toyota also offers optional Maintenance Plans to extend the coverage to wear and tear items. This coverage will look after your Land Cruiser for up to 6 years (from the original date of sale) or 200 000 km. Unsure of the difference between a service plan and a maintenance plan? Click here.
Furthermore, Toyota allows you to supplement your service plan with additional Wear and Tear cover, with two different plans on offer. These plans will cover items such as brake pads, discs, wiper blades, and more and can be structured to cover you for either 4 or 6 years with unlimited kilometres.
