Once you've read those, you may be convinced to buy a Golf, but how much will that set you back in monthly repayments? We'll look at the base pricing of all variants available at the time of writing, do some simple calculations, and that will give a good indication of finances.
The sums
At AutoTrader, we use a standard finance model for car repayments. If you know what kind of finance you qualify for, you can skip ahead and try out the AutoTrader Finance Calculator tool to see your indicative repayments for a Golf. We'll use a typical finance agreement with a 72-month term and a 10% deposit to calculate the monthly repayments, as that's the average terms car buyers tend to use. You can have a balloon or residual payment, but we won't use that in this calculation. For this calculation, we'll use an interest rate of prime plus 2% for an interest rate resulting in 13.75%.
