The Proton X50 can be considered as a global flagship for the Malaysian manufacturer ever since back in 2017, the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group bought a 49.9% stake in the company. Not to mention Zhejiang Geely Holding Group also own Volvo and Lotus. You can see the influence this has had on the X50, making it quite a compelling crossover SUV for the South African car buyer.

The Proton X50 aims to be youthful yet mature and sporty with its assertive tiger-inspired exterior styling and Malaysian design elements sprinkled throughout the interior. The X50 interior is quite solid and a pleasant place to be in.
What are the seating options?
Onto what the seating arrangements are for the Proton X50. You can seat 5 adults comfortably. The rear seating arrangement can fit 3 adults and slants back slightly for extra comfort. Alternatively, you can fit 2 adults on either side of the rear and pull down a centre armrest via a pull-tab. The rear seats also fold giving you a 60:40 split. The little ones aren't left out here as there are ISOFIX child seat anchor points
