As part of the Driver Assistance Pack fitted in the updated 2017 Ford Focus is the SYNC®3 infotainment system with embedded Navigation. The system now features swiping and pinch-to-zoom capabilities.
Additionally, the 2017 Ford Focus now features two standard smart-charging USB ports. This makes it very convenient for people on the go with several energy-hungry devices.

The navigation system has an advanced turn-by-turn instruction with an elevated 3D map view. The system is enhanced by full-colour graphics and points of interest (POI) search that can be selected by means of voice commands.
There is a simple one-box search whereby the desired destination can be found by typing the address, POI category, intersection, city, postcode or GPS coordinates. The system also has a predictive function for searches and will appear as information is typed.
Furthermore, text and voice guidance is available in a multitude of languages, that includes Afrikaans, Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Zulu.
Focus customers will also receive free annual map updates for the first five years.

Prior to the 2017 update, previous Focus models were fitted with SYNC®2 system. The SYNC®3 system has been improved to perform faster and work with voice recognition that uses simple, real-world voice commands. All this comes through on a brighter capacitive 8-inch colour touchscreen with clearer icons and convenient multi-touch gestures (such as swipe, slide, scroll and pinch-to-zoom).
The SYNC®3 system also has smartphone integration provided through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Included in the enhanced Driver Assistance Pack is also systems such as the Advanced Active Park Assist for hands-free perpendicular and parallel parking, Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keeping Aid, and an integrated rearview camera.
