Now a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol doesn't sound very promising, it sounds pretty ordinary. But Maserati applied some tricks to this specific arrangement. For starters, they added a 48-volt, mild-hybrid system which adds extra power directly to the crankshaft by means of a belt and it powers an E-Booster, basically an electric turbo that speeds up in a split second while the main turbo is still busy building boost. So sharpens the throttle response, it sharpens the boost response and makes this smallish engine in a large car, act like something much much more potent than it actually is.

What is the Maserati Ghibli like inside?
As one would expect with a model in this price segment, the Maserati Ghibli is fitted with luxurious appointments throughout the cabin. Based on the trim level selected, customers can expect a variety of trim inlays from carbon fibre to glossy wood. Leather is utilised in various other areas other than the seats and steering wheel for a more upmarket result. The latest Ghibli iterations also get an updated infotainment system which is better in performance and more intuitive to users. The large exterior dimensions also result in a large cabin which provides more head-, shoulder- and legroom.
Style
As for the styling, the model remains similar to the original that was introduced in 2013, however, with recent iterations seeing the front and rear updated. On certain derivatives, customers will find a black gloss grille insert while at the rear of the vehicle, three-dimensional taillamps incorporating the "boomerang" design features.
