Is the Ford Mustang a good car?
The Ford Mustang is one of the world's most iconic cars and remains the world's best-selling sports car. The Mustang nameplate has been in service since 1964 and continues to sell well, to this day. Testament to its design and value.
Who is the Ford Mustang a good car for?
Sports car enthusiasts will gravitate to the Ford Mustang's V8 engine and rear-wheel-drive layout. The Mustang is ideal as a weekend enthusiast car or as a daily for those that don't need to worry about taking the kids to school.
Is the Ford Mustang a good first car?
The Ford Mustang is best in the hands of an experienced driver and is not recommended as a first car. The power delivery from the V8 engine and rear-drive nature requires advanced driving skills, particularly in the wet. While the Mustang is fitted with advanced safety systems, the temptation to turn them off is ever present.
Is the Ford Mustang a good family car?
Families would be wise to steer wide of the Ford Mustang largely due to it 2-door coupe design. While fitted with back seats, these seats are small and legroom compromised with ingress and egress to the rear limited by the body shape.
Is there a Hybrid Ford Mustang?
When launched in 2015, the Ford Mustang was made available locally with a choice of two engines, a 2.3-litre turbocharged inline-4 and the Coyote 5.0 V8 petrol engine. The 2.3 EcoBoost has since been dropped from the lineup and the 5.0 V8 is the only option that remains. The full-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E is a crossover that shares only a name with the 2-door sports car. It is a standalone product and is not available locally.

What’s it like to drive?
The Ford Mustang gives you a low-slung, cosseting driving position with excellent driving ergonomics. The power delivery from the 5.0 V8 is smooth and linear and the 10-speed gearbox in the newer models operates effortlessly. Every drive is an occasion and the stares from onlookers makes it worth every cent.
Reviewers opinion.
"Once again, this makes the GT a well-composed and compliant GT car with a soundtrack to excite even the most stoic onlooker. The power delivery makes this an entertaining car to drive and comfort levels have been greatly improved, thanks in part to the suspension revisions."

What is the Ford Mustang like inside?
The interior of the Ford Mustang is best described as Retro-Cool, with a classic 60s design element combined with modern-day tech and switchgear. Leather upholstery and raised stitching add elegance while race-inspired toggle switches and an Aeronautical theme round off the enthusiast aspect.
Style
The S550 Mustang (2015 - present) received an update in mid-2019 which saw the bonnet edge lowered and new headlights and bumper fitted beneath it. The shape remains true to the 1960s Coke-Bottle design and makes the Mustang instantly recognisable as a rear-drive Muscle Car. The back end still features verticle slat taillight elements and a short overhang for sporty proportions.
