A word from Omoda
"The OMODA C5 Street redefines accessibility in the compact premium crossover segment, offering an exceptional blend of style, comfort, and advanced features at a competitive price,” said Shannon Gahagan, National Brand and Marketing Manager for OMODA & JAECOO South Africa. “With its focus on value and safety, this model invites a broader audience to experience the OMODA brand without compromise."
Drivetrain
The Street model does without a turbocharger. Its naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine offers 83kW and 138Nm of torque. The power is sent through a CVT to the front wheels. The claimed fuel consumption is 7.3 L/100 km, and combined with a 51-litre fuel tank, driving range is an estimated 690 km.
Specification
Standard features include LED daytime running lights, halogen headlights, 17-inch wheels, black cloth-trimmed sports front seats, climate control, multi-functional steering wheel, rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, cruise control, keyless entry and push-button start. The infotainment system is the same dual 10.25-inch screen set-up from other C5 models housed within a slab atop the dashboard, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The colour pallet includes Aerial Silver, Carbon Crystal Black, Khaki White, and Phantom Grey.
Practicality
Boot space is rated at 378 litres, with the 60/40 split-folding rear bench opening up 1 075 litres, making the C5 practical for its segment. The 145mm of ground clearance is relatively low, but as we've noted with C5 models, the rear occupant space is impressive.
Safety
The Street models come with electronic stability control (ESC), four airbags and Isofix mounting points.
