In April 2024, the Jaecoo J7 officially launched in South Africa and is set to compete with some very established brands locally. Is the Jaecoo J7 an automatic?

Under the bonnet of the Jaecoo J7 is a 1.6-litre, turbocharged, 4-cylinder petrol engine. The unit is claimed to produce 145 kW and 290 Nm of torque and sends it to the wheels via a 7-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission. While the Vortex and Glacier only send the power to the front wheels, the flagship Inferno AWD sends the power to all four wheels.

Verdict

Not only does the Jaecoo J7 offer customers automatic transmissions. The model is exclusively fitted with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with no manual option at all.
