Cheap cars for sale in Durban under R100 000

We find cars in different segments available for less than R100 000 in Durban.

Buying a Car

Not everyone has hundreds of thousands or even millions of Rands to spend on a car. At the same time, not everyone has the opportunity to travel out of town to go and inspect a vehicle that falls within their budget. Because of the reasons above, we searched all the used vehicles available on AutoTrader located in Durban to find out what exactly you can expect for a budget of around R100 000.

Although R100 000 should be enough to get your hands on a reliable car, we recommend that you inspect the vehicle you are considering thoroughly to ensure that it doesn't have any defects or damage that could affect the roadworthiness. Furthermore, try to find a vehicle that is priced just under your budget to leave yourself enough funds for the registration and licensing fees. Let us jump in to find out what you can expect to find in varying segments for R100 000.

Hatch

A quick search for hatchbacks reveals that there are no new vehicle options available in this price bracket, however, there are affordable and fairly new models available. One of those newer options is the Renault Kwid, although it is not the most recent iteration, you will find 2018 model-year examples. Another option that is not too dated is the Datsun Go.

If you don't mind an older vehicle, your options expand to include models such as the Hyundai i20, Opel Corsa, Toyota Aygo and the Fiat 500 amongst others.

Sedan

If you are looking for something more practical, a sedan might just meet that requirement. While once again you won't find any new models available for the R100 00 budget, there are good options available. Newer models include the Chevrolet Cruze and the Mazda 2, however, if you don't mind choosing a slightly dated model, there are a few BMW 3 Series and Volkswagen Jetta examples available.

Of course, in this segment, it is no surprise that you will find Toyota Corolla examples of varying ages available for R100 000 and less. The newest model at the time of writing this article was a  2011 Toyota Corolla 1.6 Professional with just over 300 000 km on the odometer.

Pick up

If you are looking for a small pick up to become your next workhorse, at the time of writing this article, there were Chevrolet Utility, Nissan NP200 and Opel Corsa Utility models available for under the R100 000 price point. In terms of double cabs, you can expect models such as the GWM Steed 5 to feature.

SUV

For those in the market for an SUV for the family, there is a limited number of vehicles available at this price point, however, there is some variety. At the time of writing this article, models such as a 2006 Ford Territory, 2012 Cherry Tiggo and 2008 Chevrolet Captiva were available.
