All the extras you should fit on a new Fiat 500

We look at the only option that you can specify when ordering a new Fiat 500 from the dealership.

Buying a Car

While the Ford Mustang of the '60s wasn't the first to offer options, it certainly made it a popular way of specifying what accessories and features you wanted in a car. It helped keep the purchase price down by excluding some of the seemingly frivolous features and only including the ones you wanted. Those savings were passed onto the consumer, keeping the price respectable and allowing those on a budget to still get behind the wheel of a popular car.

This trend continued and recent years have presented a whole new level of madness when it comes to options lists. On some of the luxury offerings, it's rather easy to run up a tab of over R100 000 just in options alone. This has placed the average hatch or sedan well out of the reach of many and those that have committed to the purchases, have found themselves spending more than they anticipated.

There are a few manufacturers that don't believe in this principle and will load their offerings will all the options and price the vehicle accordingly. With Fiat's 500, you don't get much in the way of options, but you do have three trim levels that you can choose from, each with their own equipment level. All you need to choose is what model you want, what trim level you prefer and finally, the colour you desire.
