All three Pajero Sport derivatives feature the same 133 kW and 430 N.m, 2.4-litre, turbocharged, four-cylinder diesel motor. The entry-level model lacks the 4X4 system fitted on the mid-range variant. The top of the range Shogun offering features a variety of the optional extras as standard equipment, however, a few options still remain on offer.

Features which come standard on the Shogun derivative includes a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Also included are Thule roof racks, headlamp protectors, a bonnet guard, and nudge bar.
Pajero Sport
The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport follows the modern design language found on other within the Japanese automaker's product line, however, still retain the 4X4 capabilities in the more compact form. Mitsubishi offers useful and practical accessories for the new model.
1. Auto Navi Car Play
The Auto Navi Car Play is an optional extra available on the Pajero Sport. The infotainment system allows you to connect your smart device through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Owners can gain access to their favourite navigation and entertainment applications. The system will set you back R14 375.00 on top of the vehicle purchase price but will ultimately add to the operating experience and the value and desirability of your vehicle when you decide to trade it in at a later stage.
2. Nudge bar
The nudge bar is fitted to the front of the vehicle and protects the vehicle and operational components behind the vehicle's grille such as the radiator, against small impacts. Offered in stainless steel (R6 313.50) and black (R5 899.50), a nudge bar will not only protect your vehicle but also add to the tough look.
3. Roof rack kit
Whether you are loading the family's suitcases for your holiday or spare tyres for your over-landing expedition, the roof rack kit will come in handy when you run out of space on the interior or you want to transport goods that could potentially damage the boot lining. The roof rack kit will cost you R10 948.00 on top of the vehicle's purchase price.
4. Tow bar
If you plan on towing a trailer, caravan or even just want a mounting point for a bike rack, you will need a tow bar. Mitsubishi offers two options in this category, a round tube type priced at R6 709.60 or a square tube type for R5 749.60. The latter will provide for all your towing needs, however, the round tube will finish off the rear slightly better.
5. Bike rack
The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport could inspire a more active lifestyle in its owners. One of the more popular recreational activities locally is cycling and Mitsubishi offers OEM solutions aim at making the transportation of your bicycle easier. Customers can specify one of three bike racks to come with their Pajero Sport, the first offer hanging space for two bikes (R1 399.00) while the other two can accommodate either three (R2 599.00) or four (R3 399.00) units.
6. Kayak canoe carrier
Continuing with the adventure theme, Mitsubishi also has a kayak canoe carrier available. This option can only be specified once the vehicle is fitted with the roof rack option. This option will cost you R3 999.00 and will allow you to safely and conveniently transport your canoe to your favourite kayaking location.
Verdict
Fitting a third party can be risky as some might not even have any warranties attached to them. Furthermore, owners can lose warranty cover on components to which the aftermarket fittings are installed to. This is why it is important to explore what options the dealership provide to meet your requirements as these items will be covered individually or in the vehicle warranty. Mitsubishi offers a host of accessories that can be fitted to your vehicle before you collect it from the dealership, making this the safest and most convenient option.
