5 extras you should fit on a new Ferrari Roma

When only taking into account the purchase price, the Ferrari Roma is the entry point to the Ferrari product range. However, it is every bit as stylish and as powerful as you would expect any car rolling off the production line in Maranello. Here are five extras that will bolster your ownership experience even more.

Buying a Car

The Ferrari Roma was introduced locally in 2020 and takes shape as a 2+2 grand tourer. Globally Ferrari used the term “La Nuova Dolce Vita” when describing the purpose of the Roma, and it roughly translates to "living your best life". Unlike most of the vehicles that exit the doors of the manufacturing plant, the Roma is less focussed on outright performance and speed but rather style, comfort and everyday convenience.

Make no mistake, even though the model was created to be easy to live with on a daily basis, it is no slouch either. Under the beautifully sculpted bonnet features a 3.9-litre, twin-turbocharged, V8 petrol motor coupled to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This combination results in 456 kW and 760 Nm of torque and will allow the four-seater to reach 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a top speed north of 320 km/h.

Considering its performance and sleek styling, you might think that it's all you need straight out of the box, however, we have compiled a list of extras you should consider when specifying your Roma.

1. Protective film

First things first, regardless of the colour you choose for your new Italian GT, order the protective film to keep it safe. This clear film has been tailored to specifically fit all the crucial areas of the sculpted Roma body. It will protect the paint and body from marks, chips and scratches caused by gravel picked up from the road. If you already took delivery of your Roma, note that the film can be ordered as a kit for your local dealership to install.

2. Parking camera

While on the topic of protecting the exterior of your vehicle, you should consider adding the parking camera to the specifications list. The parking camera system works with the park distance control sensors and provides visuals of both the front and rear of the vehicle with helpful grids to help the driver avoid hitting any obstacles.

3. CarPlay

One area in which the Roma stands out from its predecessors is its comprehensive infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. With the digitized environment, you can specify Apple CarPlay for your Ferrari Roma and allow easy smartphone integration. This is a great extra to specify, especially if you are going to use the vehicle daily as you will gain access to your favourite navigation apps and can listen to music straight from your phone, not to mention the call and messaging capabilities.

4. Passenger display

On the topic of infotainment, the optional passenger display is a perfect example of it. The screen is installed on the passenger side of the dashboard and provides the passenger with information such as engine speed, vehicle speed, current gear selected, manettino setting, navigation information and the trip computer. This item can also be installed after you have taken delivery of your Roma, so its not too late if you didn't specify it originally.

5. Carbon fibre accents

Carbon fibre is a wonderful material that is not only very strong but also very light. It can also be moulded into various shapes which makes it ideal for components as large as bonnets and monocoques and as small as stylistic trim pieces for the exterior and interior. Ferrari offers a variety of carbon fibre trim pieces ranging from front splitters to rear wings for the Roma as well as dashboard and centre console trimmings which will not only be lighter but also bolster the sporty styling.
