Five facts about the Focus.

If you’re researching compact cars, then here’s five fast facts about the 2017 Ford Focus you should know:

International Engine of the Year since 2012

For six consecutive years, starting in 2012, Ford’s EcoBoost 1.0-litre engine has won the International Engine of the Year award for the best engine under 1.0-litre. It continues to dominate its segment and has been praised for the engine’s combination of performance, fuel-efficiency and technology. This engine can be found in the Fiesta, Focus and EcoSport.

4 trim levels

The Ford Focus offers 4 trim levels: Ambiente, Ambiente Auto, Trend, and Trend Auto. Additionally, there’s also the performance ST and RS variants.

4 top performing engines

The base models are powered by a 1.0-litre EcoBoost inline 3-cylinder turbocharged engine and mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Maximum power produced is 92 kW and 170 Nm of torque. A 6-speed automatic gearbox is also available and fitted into the Ambiente Auto, Trend Auto cars.

Other engines in the range include the 1.5-litre EcoBoost that produces 132 kW and 240 Nm of torque, the 1.5-litre TDCi that produces 88 kW and 270 Nm of torque.

The Focus ST is powered by a 2.0-litre GTDi EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine and mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Maximum output is rated at 184 kW and 360 Nm of torque.

12 colours available

The standard Focus is available in 12 colours.

The Focus RS is available in five colours: Frozen White, Magnetic, Nitrous Blue, Stealth, and the 2016 Shadow Black.

The Focus is ST is available in six colours: Deep Impact Blue (metallic), Frozen White, Race Red, Shadow Black (metallic), Moondust Silver (metallic), and Stealth.

Advanced driver-assistance systems

Advanced driver-assistance systems are optional on most trim levels and include Active Park Assist, a rear-view camera, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Alert, Adaptive Bi-xenon headlamps and Active City Stop amongst others.

Ford’s next-generation SYNC®3 infotainment system with 8-inch touch-screen interface, Bluetooth, and improved voice command can also be found in new models.
