The Peugeot Partner has been a moderate but steady seller on our market for a number of years now. The current model is the 1.6 DHI L1. It uses a 1,6-litre turbodiesel engine producing 66 kW and 215 Nm of torque.
A no-frills vehicle that is ideal for small businesses, it can also make an ideal low-budget leisure vehicle if you fit the load area with some comfort items. The cost of a new Peugeot Partner 1.6 HDI L1 is R296 900.
Re-filling the windscreen washer bottle
It’s a good idea to keep the windscreen washer topped up. Make this one of your regular maintenance chores. It is a good idea to do this yourself, to make sure you add the correct fluid to the correct receptacle in the engine bay!
You will need:
Water in a handy dispenser is all you will need. A small or medium-sized drinking bottle is ideal, but you can use a kitchen jug. Using a large container will make the job more difficult.
There are special screen wash preparations you can buy for this at spares shops, but generally water does the job!
Screen washer bottle step-by-step
1. Open the bonnet. On Peugeots, the bonnet release is generally on the left side of the vehicle, sometimes located inside the door jam. Open the left passenger door to check this.
2. On the Peugeot Partner, the windscreen washer bottle has a blue cap with a logo showing a screen being washed with a wiper action, and some water droplets. When viewing the engine bay from the front, the screen washer bottle is on the left side of engine bay. Don’t confuse this screen bottle with the pressurised engine coolant reservoir, which has a black top and is located just behind the screen bottle.
3. The windscreen washer bottle cap is made of stout plastic and simply flips open. Use your thumb to do this. It is retained in the open position by a ring tab and you may need to hold the cap open while you re-fill the bottle.
4. Top up the bottle slowly to the point where the water level is just below the cap.
5. Close the cap by pressing it in place and make sure it is secure.
6. You should now test the washer via the button on the windscreen wiper stalk.
