Renault 5 Year Warranty
Renault ensures it looks after its customers and vehicles and hence offers a 5 year/150 000km Mechanical Warranty for new Duster owners.
The 5-year Renault Warranty offers you guaranteed protection as laid out by the terms and conditions set out in the Renault Warranty Policy.
This policy covers any and all defects relating to material, fitting or manufacturing fault stipulated under the Warranty Policy for a period of no more than 60 months (5 years) from the date of delivery or until 150 000km is reached, whichever comes first.
What does it cover?
The 5-year Renault Warranty for new Dusters covers the cost of repair or replacement of any defective parts, material, or even assembly and manufacturing defects that have been recognized by the manufacturer. It must be noted however that these repairs, and the identification of the necessary repairs, needs to be undertaken by a recognised member of the Renault network. It also covers any consequential damage received by the vehicle resulting from the original defect. Please also note that repair identification and undertakings are up to the discretion of Renault South Africa, in consultation with any recognised Renault Dealership in South Africa as laid out in the 5-year Renault Warranty Policy.
Exclusions from the Renault New Vehicle Warranty
The Warranty does not apply, and Renault and the Renault Network are exempt from all liability, if:
- The vehicle has been used under conditions not in accordance with those stated in the Owner’s Handbook, (e.g. vehicle overloaded or taking part in any type of sports competition).
- The defect found has arisen due to the fact that the vehicle has been repaired or serviced not in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, or has not been serviced according to the Maintenance Program detailed in the Warranty and Service sheet provided to you by your Renault Dealer during the new vehicle handover.
Reduced Cover for Parts subject to Wear and Tear
Certain items have a cover that is limited in terms of mileage and age of the vehicle. This limitation of cover is less than the period and/or mileage shown on the Warranty and Service sheet provided to you by your Renault Dealer during the new vehicle handover. Your Renault dealer will inform you of the warranty coverage on these items.
Transfer of Warranty
Should you sell your Renault Duster privately, then the unexpired portion of this Warranty will be transferred to the new owner. Transfer to the new owner can only occur if, as at the date of the transfer, you have complied with all the terms and conditions of the Warranty, in particular, the conditions relating to servicing and the change of any timing belts fitted to the vehicle.
