VW's Polo Vivo Xpress returns for 2026
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is officially re-entering South Africa’s urban delivery market with the launch of the all-new Vivo Xpress. Available for sale from February 2026, this locally built city van is aimed at small businesses, courier services, and security fleets.
There has been a notable surge in demand for entry-level delivery vehicles in South Africa, driven largely by the rise of e-commerce. While the original Xpress was a staple back in 2016, it has been absent since the second-generation Vivo launched in 2018—until now.
The new Vivo Xpress is the only locally manufactured model in the A0 City Van segment. By removing the rear seats and bench, VW has created a metal-lined cargo area.

Safety first: Standard safety includes dual front airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and tyre-pressure monitoring.
Protection options: For high-risk operations, customers can opt for Smash & Grab film or Window Guards.
Accessibility: Loading is seamless via the traditional side doors and the rear tailgate, making it easy to manoeuvre both small parcels and bulkier items.

Under the hood, the Xpress utilises VW’s tried-and-tested 1.4-litre petrol engine, delivering a segment-leading 63kW. This balance of power and fuel efficiency is designed for the stop-start nature of city deliveries.

Rivals
