Audi’s A4 is a premium class, medium sized sedan and the pricing reflects this status. The base model A4, the 35 TFSI, has a starting price of R541 500, while the top model sedan, the A4 40 TDI S line sports, sells for R635 467.
We use the term “starting price” because it has become the norm with this level of car to add a whole range of extras which Audi will sell you when you pop in to order your new A4. Basic, unadorned models are a rarity, and Audi caters for individual tastes in a number of ways.

Recommended extras for your A4
The S line sports package. Instead of fitting individual accessories to your A4 once you’ve bought it, choosing the S line sports package gives you an integrated classy sports package that can be fitted to your car while it is still on the production line. This consists of cast aluminium wheels in a twin-5-spoke design and with a sizing of 8J by 18 inches. The tyres that fit these rims are 245/40 by 18 items and come as part of the package. The S-Line package adds R28 467 to the cost of a new A4.The exterior additions include door sill trims, chunkier bumpers and stone guard covers, and subtle S line emblems, while inside the package includes a black cloth headlining, stainless steel pedal set and various S line emblems.
- Audi Exclusive leather, wood inlays and paint finishes. Audi offers a vast range of choice when it comes to configuring the interior and exterior of your car. You can order individual leather upholstery combinations specifically tailored to your tastes, including having the steering wheel covered in a different shade of leather to the seats and dashboard upholstery. Contrasting stitching is also a popular option.There are also 100 paint colours to choose from when using the Audi Exclusive programme at the ordering stage. In addition there are a vast number of wood inlays you can choose from in this programme.
- Child seats and baby seats. These are available through Audi’s genuine accessory programme, and range from seats for toddlers weighing less than 13 kg to larger seats for children up to the age of 12. They are not cheap but they are built to exacting standards.
- Audi first aid kit. This kit complies with very high DIN legal requirements.
- Audi roof rack. This is a roof rack made of aluminium and high-strength plastic and designed specifically for the A4 sedan. It can accept bicycle racks as well as the streamlined Audi luggage box and is crash-test certified.
- Car cover. Audi offers a special indoor dust cover for your A4 complete with the Audi logo. If you store your car for longer periods of time in a garage or under a carport, this will preserve your paint to showroom condition.
