1. Engine

Both grades in the Land Cruiser 200 range are powered by a 4.5-litre V8 turbodiesel engine. This engine is the most powerful engine in the entire Toyota range. The 4.5l diesel engine delivers maximum power of 195 kW at 3400 r/min and peak torque of 650 Nm at 1600-2600 r/min. The model features a 1VD-FTV engine, which provides exceptionally powerful performance with an extremely quiet drive.

There’s also a Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System which provides enhanced on- and off-road stability.

The engine has been paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission as standard for easier driving.

2. VX-R Upgrades

The VX-R received some updates in 2018. Amongst these changes, there is now a new front grille design which features two prominent horizontal slats intersecting the large grille opening in an east-west fashion – replacing the previously utilised multi-slat design.

The VX-R also received some smoked treatment which has been applied to the Bi-LED headlamps, for enhanced visual differentiation. The headlamps themselves include Auto High Beam functionality, super bright LED illumination and Daytime Running Lights (DRL).

A new Brown interior trim colour has been made available, now affording VX-R buyers a selection of three interior palettes – Beige, Black and Brown.
