KIA Motors donates Picanto to the Beeld Children’s Fund
KIA Motors South Africa this week reaffirmed its commitment to helping vulnerable South Africans by donating a KIA Picanto 1.0 START to the Beeld Children’s Fund. It is the third consecutive year that KIA Motors donates a vehicle, which the Fund will once again use as the grand prize in their annual fundraising raffle
Take these Virtual Tours with Ford on National Museum Day
Through the online virtual tour one can imagine being a fly on the wall as Henry Ford laid out his plans for the Model T in complete secrecy, using a heavy-duty padlock to ensure its confidential files remained hidden from the rest of the workshop. This is a short virtual tour owing to the small size of the building but one packed with provenance to the point where you can almost hear Henry's footsteps against the creaking wooden floors.
Honda dealerships are open for business
Honda Motors South Africa has confirmed that all nationwide dealerships have resumed operations. Car sales will be allowed on a three phased-in approach under level 4. Currently, dealerships are operating under Phase 1 until May 23, 2020. Dealerships are operating with up to 30% employment subject to a maximum of one employee or customer per every nine (9) square meters of floor space. Majority of car sales will be done remotely. Personal contact will be kept to a minimum and only on appointment under strict hygiene and social distancing conditions in line with the government regulations. Test drives will be conducted on appointment only. Home delivery of vehicles will be required; full sanitisation will be mandatory.
Subaru dealerships are now open for business
In line with the latest regulations, Subaru Southern Africa and its dealer network is open. The safety of Subaru's employees and customers is of utmost importance and a number of measures have been implemented across their dealer network to ensure the highest levels of hygiene. The measures below are essential to reduce the risk of spreading the virus when employees are interacting with customers.
Toyota outlines its new normal for business operations
According to Toyota South Africa's Executive Vice President of Manufacturing and Support, Nigel Ward, Toyota’s production facility resumed activity with limited and essential employees in each area of the plant in the first week of May, adhering to the government-stipulated operational capacity of 50% under Alert Level 4.
Volvo launches relief programme
Volvo Car South Africa has launched a customer programme which provides motorists with payment relief or cash in their pockets. The programme applies to the following vehicles: the XC40, XC60, XC90, S90 and V90CC. The unprecedented campaign has been prompted by Covid-19, which has placed motorists under financial pressure like never before. However, this is certainly not the first time that Volvo Car South Africa has come to the aid of motorists during lockdown. For instance, in April this year, the company offered customers zero deposit deals on the XC range.
