Mzansi Edge: Kingsley Holgate and the New Defender hit the road again
With the easing of travel restrictions within South Africa, the continent’s most experienced expedition team is beginning an exciting new adventure, this time to track the outline of Mzansi. The journey will give the Kingsley Holgate Foundation its first long-distance test of the recently-launched new Land Rover Defender while delivering humanitarian aid to those in need along the way.
Extended warranties, service plans now available on all Mahindra models
The new packages were developed completely in-house by Mahindra South Africa and they allow owners to purchase a complete service plan – for models not currently sold with one – or to top up their service plans and add an extended warranty – on all models.

KIA Motors South Africa announces safety recall on select 2005 - 2009 Sorento and Sedona models
Effective today, KIA Motors South Africa (Pty) Ltd will conduct a safety recall on 2,175 KIA Sorento (BL) and KIA Carnival/Sedona (VQ) models manufactured in Korea between 2005 and 2009. The safety recall serves to diagnose the vehicle’s ABS PCB relay block kit in the junction box, specifically on vehicles equipped with ABS and ESC (Electronic Stability Control).
Ferrari Portofino M revealed
The Ferrari Portofino M, the evolution of the Prancing Horse’s 2+ GT spider, the Ferrari Portofino, was unveiled today. In a move unprecedented in the Maranello marque’s 70-year-plus history, the new car’s premiere took place entirely online. The build-up to the unveiling included the sending out of a series of newsletters to clients over recent weeks at the end of which they were given access to a platform containing exclusive videos illustrating the concept behind the car, its restyling and main technical content.
New Mitsubishi Pajero Sport unveiled
Mitsubishi Motors South Africa (MMSA) is taking an upmarket approach with the launch of the latest version of the New Pajero Sport, including a new Dynamic Shield front grille, new features, and additional luxuries. The line-up will be expanded with Mitsubishi’s most stylish Pajero Sport yet, the 2.4L MIVEC Turbodiesel 8-speed A/T 4x4 Exceed, joining the 2.4L MIVEC Turbodiesel 8-speed A/T 4x2 and 2.4L MIVEC Turbodiesel 8-speed A/T 4x4. The new “Boss of the Mitsubishi Stable” will turn heads thanks to more style and more luxury as well as various improvements thanks to Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield design approach.
Its Le Mans time!
The 88th running of Le Mans has been moved from its original June slot to 19-20 September due to the COVID-19 pandemic and marks the penultimate round of the current FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season. The title race concludes with the 8 Hours of Bahrain on 14 November and the result at Le Mans is particularly important as the French classic counts as a ‘double points’ round. So grab your snacks and drinks and settle in for 24 hours of non stop high speed action!
