KIA Motors unveils the Sonet in the metal
The world premiere of the production-ready model follows the global unveiling of the Sonet concept at the Delhi Auto Expo in February 2020. Sales of the new car will commence soon in India, with sales in many of KIA’s global markets due to follow. The all-new Sonet incorporates KIA’s DNA of emotive styling along with a premium and youthful appeal to create a strong road presence. Displaying a dynamic stance in a confident, compact body, the Sonet showcases a range of styling attributes to make it stand apart on roads around the world.
Polo Cup back on track
South Africa’s motorsport fraternity, including everyone involved in the Oettinger Polo Cup safely returned to action for Round 2 of the National Extreme Festival at the Zwartkops Raceway to the west of Pretoria. The stands may have been empty as a result of motorsport’s Covid-19 compliance, but the action on track was as good as ever.
Toyota Gazoo Racing ready and primed to go racing again
It has been almost seven months since Round 1 of the 2020 South African Cross-Country Series (SACCS) saw defending champions, Henk Lategan and navigator Brett Cummings, draw first blood for TOYOTA GAZOO Racing SA when they won the Mpumalanga 400, in Dullstroom on Saturday, January 29th. A lot has changed since then, due to the ongoing pandemic, but the team is primed to return to the dusty tracks of the SACCS this weekend, when racing resumes with the Bronkhorstspruit 400.
New Jaguar F-TYPE ready to seduce South Africa
The new Jaguar F-TYPE has arrived in South Africa with an even more dramatic design, improved dynamics and increased focus on driver engagement. Available in both Coupé and Convertible form, the two-seat sports car has evolved from its World Car Design-winning predecessor’s form with new super-slim pixel LED headlights featuring subtly revised ‘Calligraphy’ J signature daytime running lights. At the rear, slender tail lights inherit ‘Chicane’ LED signatures similar to the all-electric Jaguar I-PACE.
KIA reveals new design for fastback Stinger
KIA Motors Corporation has released the first images of the upgraded KIA Stinger today, revealing a refreshed design for the high-performance fastback sports sedan. Changes to the appearance of the enhanced model amplify its gran turismo character, while improving cabin quality and giving owners more choice of colour and material. Unfortunately, KIA Motors South Africa has no immediate plans to introduce the enhanced Stinger to the local market.

New Panamera achieves lap record on the Nürburgring
Porsche has proven the performance potential of the new Panamera even before the car’s world premiere: in a slightly camouflaged series production car, test driver Lars Kern (32) completed a full lap of the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife over a distance of 20.832 kilometres in 7:29.81 minutes, around 13 seconds faster than the predecessor model. In the official ranking of the race track organization, this time certified by a notary public now stands as a new record in the “executive cars” category.
