Jaguar SA details the benefits of electric mobility
With electric vehicles (EVs) your home becomes your primary filling station. The practice of topping up from your very own wall socket or dedicated wall box, most often while you sleep, is a tasty proposition and far more convenient than stopping to fill up while on the move as is necessary with traditional internal combustion engines (ICE). EV drivers will enjoy leaving home every morning with full “tanks”, much like fully charged cell phones which are habitually charged nightly.
Ford South Africa Launches Self-Service Tool 'Ask Ford'
As part of our ongoing investment to improve the customer experience, Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA) is launching 'Ask Ford' - an intuitive global online knowledge base tool for customers. Located on the www.ford.co.za website, the Ask Ford self-service tool will be launched on 09 June 2020.
Mitsubishi Motors SA announces future models for local market
First in the line of new models will be the Triton Xtreme due early in July, followed by an upgraded version of the Pajero Sport with the introduction of a brand-new model in this popular range of Mitsubishi SUVs. The Triton Xtreme, only available as the 4x4 Double Cab Auto, offers much more than an attractive, bold, and adventurous look, including a higher attitude taking its already impressive off-road abilities to new heights.
Simola Hillclimb postponed to 2021
Due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic the 2020 Simola Hillclimb has been postponed to 6-9 May 2021. The Hillclimb, held in Knysna over the past decade, has become South Africa’s premier motorsport lifestyle event with approximately 17 000 people from around the globe attending, This unfortunate, very difficult situation forced on the Simola Hillclimb by COVID-19 has severe implications for so many people associated with the event. The knock-on effect for those that rely on the event – and the other events that have been cancelled – as a source of income is vast. With the Simola Hillclimb being integral to Knysna itself, we look forward to being able to host the event in 2021 and helping the town to recover from the impact of COVID-19.

Ford, Volkswagen Sign Agreements for Joint Projects On Commercial Vehicles
Ford and Volkswagen both have strong commercial van and pickup businesses around the world, including popular models such as Ford's Transit and Ranger and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle's Transporter, Crafter, Caddy and Amarok. The alliance will produce a medium pickup truck engineered and built by Ford, for sale by Volkswagen as the Amarok starting in 2022 within the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles lineup. Audi presents their admirable A6!
The first of three planned Audi A6 models arrived in the first quarter of 2020 with the global pandemic putting the brakes on the later arrivals. Cayenne GTS models now available with a V8, again
As standard for the GTS models, the powertrain plays a particularly important part. Replacing the predecessors’ 3.6-litre V6 biturbo engine, a V8 heart beats once more under the bonnet of the latest Cayenne GTS. With an output of 460 PS (338 kW) and torque of 620 Nm, the four-litre biturbo engine offers significantly improved performance in all disciplines. Both GTS models sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds with the Sport Chrono package and have a top speed of 270 km/h
Toyota SA to start hybrid production in 2021
The local arm of the Japanese car and truck maker says this strategy aims to offer customers high-tech, engaging-to-drive vehicles, and is in line with Toyota’s global 2050 Zero Emissions Environmental Challenge. Accordingly, Toyota will introduce a number of hybrid Toyota- and Lexus-branded vehicles in South Africa over the next few years to complement the existing range, with these hybrids to also form part of local-assembly production from 2021.
