GR Cup rolls back into Zwartkops for round 4
The GR Cup spec series returns to its home base as the 2025 season reaches the halfway point. Zwartkops Raceway, west of Pretoria, is the spiritual home of GR Racing in South Africa and will play host to the fourth round of the series, which is part of the national Extreme Series and has seen some serious competition from all competitors thus far.

The field of twenty cars will line up on the circuit again as the season turns the corner, but this time, a few more additions will join the field. One of the decommissioned Yaris from the beginning of the season is being refleeted in the hands of an eighth dealer team, and we may also be seeing the addition of a seventh Yaris to the media contingent that could be piloted by a mystery driver.

Race week excitement
As we approach the halfway point of my season, I've had time to sit back and think about what I am doing. This entire experience is not only about racing a car; it has had a profound effect on my personal life as well. I have been exercising more, eating better, and seeing a marked improvement in my ability to concentrate for longer than ever before.
The commitment to the year of racing has had the added benefit of allowing me to see what goes on behind the scenes at a brand like GR. Yes, GR is a stand-alone brand that falls under the Toyota banner, but it's still a business unit that isn't only about motorsports but also about the vehicles that bear the GR brand.
Outside of the business education, the driving lessons have been invaluable, and I can definitely see my health levels and my day-to-day driving improving as I become more acutely aware of what is going on around me.
The excitement is increasing as we approach race weekend, and the prep has stepped up a notch. I look forward to the "Big Z" this weekend to see how much I have improved since the shakedown at the beginning of the year.
Good news everyone!
With Zwartkops being the home of GR, the brand has kindly offered us some general admission tickets for the race, which we will give away. Keep an eye on our social media channels for details on the competition.
If you're at the track, stop by the pits and say hi! We're a friendly bunch who will happily tell you about the cars and the series.
