A legacy of excellence

Sascha Sauer, Head of Audi South Africa, expressed his excitement about the RS 6 Avant GT, stating, “This model marks the end of an illustrious era for the famed RS6 series. The GT is more than just a car; it represents the apex of our engineering excellence and a legacy we are immensely proud of.” This sentiment reflects the anticipation surrounding the auction, as collectors recognise the significance of owning such a rare vehicle.

Unmatched inspiration, performance, and design

As we've mentioned, the RS6 Avant GT was inspired by a concept car designed by Audi apprentices in 2020. These apprentices, who were studying to be bodywork mechanics, automotive mechanics, painters, and tooling mechanics, spent six months working on the project with the help of Audi Design. They drew inspiration from the Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO race car from 1989. The resulting car demonstrates the valuable contributions that young employees can make to the company while still in training.

The RS 6 Avant GT is a visual delight and a powerhouse on the road. It features:

  • A twin-turbocharged V8 engine delivering a whopping 463 kW and 850 Nm of torque from 2,300 to 4,500rpm
  • Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in a blistering 3.3 seconds and to 200 km/h in only 11.5 seconds!
  • An awe-inspiring top speed of 305 km/h.

Its design is equally jaw-dropping, showcasing a striking Arkona White exterior complemented by Audi Sport's traditional black, grey, and red colours. The vehicle's unique features include:

  • 22-inch wheels with a distinctive design,
  • A pass-through roof edge spoiler and a redefined diffuser,
  • An interior with bucket seats and a fresh, heritage-inspired colour scheme.
