Nyobolt EV could change the EV game!
Nyobolt, a UK-based company specializing in ultra-fast-charging batteries, has unveiled its advanced battery technology that has the potential to revolutionize electric vehicles (EVs). The company has showcased a vehicle that can be fully and repeatedly charged in under six minutes, setting a new record in the field of automotive electrification.
Nyobolt aims to address the fundamental challenges faced by the EV industry, which have hindered the widespread adoption of electric cars worldwide. Currently, achieving the convenience of refuelling petrol vehicles has been a major hurdle for EVs. An obstacle that needs to be overcome is weight, expense, range and charging times while the production of the batteries themselves is resource heavy.
This is where Nyobolt comes in, with the brand introducing so-called "breakthrough battery technology". The batteries that the brand has developed are lighter and can allegedly be fully charged in just six minutes and provide a range of up to 250 km. This technology is said to reduce initial costs, running costs, as well as reduce the use of raw materials.
The Nyobolt EV weighs around one ton and utilizes a 35kWh battery, and can be fully charged in under six minutes, providing a range of up to 250 km with existing charging infrastructure. This charging speed is equivalent to charging at over 2 575 km/h, surpassing the fastest-charging cars currently on the market.
Nyobolt also claims that the batteries have been tested and over 2 000 fast charge cycles can be implemented without significant performance loss, enabling the development of ultra-efficient and lightweight EVs.
The technology is not limited to small batteries; it can also be applied to larger battery packs used in luxury EVs, trucks, or buses. Once 1MW chargers become available, these larger packs could also be charged within a few minutes.
Nyobolt's technology is primed for rapid scale-up and will enter production in early 2024. The company's proven 10C (six-minute) charge lithium-ion technology offers immediate application and the potential for swift expansion.
