New Audi Q3 lands in SA
Audi South Africa has officially launched the third-generation Audi Q3, updating its highly successful luxury compact SUV to compete in a fiercely contested segment. Arriving in both traditional SUV and sloped-roof Sportback body styles, the newcomer brings a substantial digital overhaul, sharper styling, and advanced lighting tech previously reserved for Audi’s flagship models.

New looks
The third-generation Q3 receives a major aesthetic update, featuring a wider Singleframe grille, more aggressive proportions, and a distinctive horizontal shoulder line.
Notably, this is the first compact premium SUV to offer digital Matrix LED headlights alongside digital OLED rear lights. The rear lighting features up to four customisable light signatures, a continuous light strip, and—for the first time on an Audi—illuminated four rings.
Buyers can choose from 11 exterior paint options, including new additions like Sage Green metallic and Madeira Brown Polar Matte. Standard wheel sizes range from 18 to 19 inches, with optional designs scaling up to 20 inches.
Inside
The cabin is dominated by Audi’s new "digital stage." This layout pairs an 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit plus with a curved 12.8-inch MMI touch display angled toward the driver.
Key interior highlights include:
New materials: Redesigned upholstery fabrics are made from 100% recycled polyester.
Improved space and versatility: A sliding second row allows boot capacity to expand from 488 litres to 575 litres with the seats up.
Total utility: Folding the rear seats flat yields 1 386 litres of utility space in the SUV and 1 289 litres in the Sportback.
South African model range
Audi has simplified its ordering structure for South Africa, offering two familiar four-cylinder engines across four distinct trim grades: Base, Advanced, S line, and S line Black.
The Powertrains
1.4 TFSI (petrol): Kicking off the range with 110 kW and 250 Nm, mated to an S tronic automatic transmission.
2.0 TDI (turbodiesel): Catering to long-distance drivers, this unit pushes out 110 kW and a meatier 360 Nm of torque via an S tronic gearbox.
Trim Levels Breakdown
Base Q3: Comes standard with LED headlights, an electric tailgate, 18-inch alloys, automatic climate control, lane departure warning, seven airbags (including a front impact airbag), and the dual-screen MMI navigation plus system with Audi connect.
Advanced: Adds digital light signatures, high-beam assist, a panoramic sunroof, heated front sport seats, three-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, and intelligent park assist.
S line: Steps up the aggression with S line exterior styling, 19-inch Platinum Grey alloy wheels, and a flat-bottomed sport steering wheel.
S line Black: The flagship look features 19-inch peak Black Metallic wheels and a Black Optics package (black mirrors, roof rails, window surrounds, and Anthracite Grey Audi badges).
Technology packages
Audi has grouped optional extras into three tiered tech packs:
Tech Package: Adds core convenience features like 360-degree park assist, keyless entry, and heated front seat lumbar support.
Tech Plus Package: Incorporates progressive steering, side assist with exit warning, and rear cross-traffic assist.
Tech Pro Package: The full house. It introduces adaptive cruise assist plus, two-valve damper control, and Trained Parking—a first for Audi that allows the vehicle to memorise, steer, brake, and park itself in up to five repetitive locations.
