Driver change

Mahindra has always had a reputation for making vehicles that are as tough-as-nails and very well suited for our local market, with hundreds of examples of the Pik-Up, Bolero, and Scorpio to be found on work sites and in industrial work areas. Mahindra have decided to pivot slightly and is now building and releasing vehicles with a much higher build quality, equipped with high-end features, and are aiming locally for the big three.

We have seen this change taking place with vehicles like the XUV 500, 700, and the new Scorpio N SUVs, and with this, consumers are taking notice and turning towards the Indian brand for their next vehicle.

Academy trained

With a renewed interest in their product range and now offering vehicles with a host of features, Mahindra has partnered with a number of facilities around the country to offer customers and dealers places where they can showcase the vehicle's capabilities and offer training for those customers so that they can extract the most out of their new 4x4. Leribisi Lodge, which had already been partnered with Mahindra for a number of years, would be the place where this announcement would be made and having just recently completely revamped their facility, it would be the first of these training facilities on offer.

There are plans for six of these training facilities around the country in Nelspruit, Bloemfontein, KZN, Cape Town and another in Gauteng all offering dealers and customers a family-friendly environment where drivers can explore their vehicles in a safe and educational space.

On the day we were able to sample a few of Mahindra's products on the revamped 4x4 course with the skilled instructors and can confirm the current product lineup is more than capable of tackling some very challenging obstacles.
