Jaguar launch new brand direction with Type 00

After an attention-grabbing rebrand, Jaguar is in the limelight again as it introduces the Type 00, a concept car showcasing the brand's future, which should see the marque launch its first new car in 2026.

Amid one of the most controversial rebranding strategies in automotive history, British automaker Jaguar has launched a concept vehicle badged the Type 00. The Type 00 reflects where the now all-electric brand is headed with its first new model in 2026. Here's what we discerned from the launch.

Sailing through a sea of marketing lingo

Between lengthy marketing-lingo-laden statements from designers justifying the brand's new look and rebrand, we've gleaned some information about the new four-door EV set to be revealed at the end of 2025. The new model will be built in the United Kingdom and feature a claimed driving range of between 692 and 770km on a single charge. Rapid charging can add a claimed 321km of range in around 15 minutes.

Jaguar to mimic the world of fashion

Jaguar announced that it would be opening up stores, the first of which will be in Paris, with a heavy implication that the brand is positioning itself more as a fashion brand than a traditional automaker by following what appears to be a different retail model. Only time will tell whether this dramatic departure for one of the car world's most stored companies will be a success or not.
