Isuzu D-Max V-Cross and Arctic Trucks AT35 Now Available in Onyx Black

Isuzu Motors South Africa is expanding the colour palette for its flagship D-Max bakkies, giving buyers of the D-Max V-Cross and the rugged D-Max Arctic Truck AT35 a new metallic Onyx Black.

This premium black finish, which proved popular on the mu-X Onyx XT and the D-Max X-Rider Black models, has now been extended to the top-tier double cabs in response to strong customer demand.

Based on the success of the recently launched mu-X ONYX XT and the X-Rider Black in Onyx Black, we’ve had keen customer interest in adding the black colour option to the range-topping D-Max models, commented Kevin Fouché, Department Executive, Product Planning at Isuzu Motors South Africa.

The Top-Tier D-Max Lineup

The D-Max V-Cross is Isuzu’s fully loaded luxury offering, available in both HR (High Ride) 4x2 and a capable 4x4 configuration.

For the off-road enthusiast, the D-Max Arctic Truck AT35 is based on the V-CROSS 4x4. Built in collaboration with Arctic Trucks, these specialised conversions are completed at Isuzu’s Struandale plant in Gqeberha. Skilled technicians make the necessary modifications, including larger wheel wells and arches, to accommodate the enormous 35-inch tyres and beefed-up suspension.

  • Note: The AT35 remains an exclusive vehicle, available only on special order with strictly limited production numbers through the Isuzu dealer network.

Power and Performance

Isuzu’s 3.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine powers both the V-Cross and the Arctic AT35. This unit is paired with the latest-specification six-speed automatic transmission. The introduction of the Onyx Black colour aligns with Isuzu’s strategy to continually enhance its product offering, providing customers with more choice.

Warranty and Service

Owners of the Isuzu D-Max range benefit from Isuzu’s comprehensive after-sales package, which includes:

  • Five-year/90 000 km Service Plan

  • Five-year/120 000 km Warranty and Roadside Assistance

  • Five-year/Unlimited distance Anti-corrosion Warranty

Service intervals are set at every 15 000 km or once every 12 months.
