Latest Information on Ford Laser
In 1979 Ford acquired a 25% stake in Mazda which lead to the Ford Laser being a restyled version of the Mazda 323. The Laser was launched in South Africa in 1986 as a hatchback, having replaced the Ford Escort, and was manufactured alongside the 323. The second generation model was produced until 1998. Further generations continued in overseas markets with complete cease in production by 2003 and were replaced by the Ford Focus.
