It also takes the leg work out of taking the bike for appraisals and getting the run around from insincere buyers. But what are the steps you should follow when selling your bike online?

1. Prep the bike for sale
Start by ensuring that the bike is in sale-worthy condition. Ensure that the mechanicals are all in order, the license and paperwork are all up to date, and give it a deep clean.
2. Decide on a price
Spend time researching what similar bikes in the same condition, age, and mileage are selling for. Price your bike accordingly and set your price for the online buyers you want to sell to.
3. List the bike on your chosen platform
Not all online platforms are created equal. Find out what the success rate is for given platforms and increase your chances of a sale by listing your bike on legitimate and successful platforms.
4. Conduct test ride
Once a buyer has made contact, you can arrange for a safe and secure meeting point so that they can conduct a test ride. Make sure you have some damage deposit or collateral before letting a stranger ride off into the sunset with your bike.
5. Receive payment
Ensure you have received full payment for the vehicle before releasing the bike or the balance of the paperwork. If you are not careful, scammers will get to you here.
