The Fendt e100 Vario & e100 V Vario: Compact, Emissions-Free, and Future-Ready
For the first time, Fendt is offering fully electric models with the e100 and e100 V series. These e-tractors, such as the Fendt e100 Vario and the e100 V Vario, are explicitly designed for non-agricultural sectors, such as municipalities, unique crop farms, livestock operations, and farms with energy production systems. Their drive system combines a high-capacity battery with an electric motor and the trusted Fendt Vario transmission, making them highly efficient and sustainable.
The Fendt e100 Vario is powered by a 100 kWh battery that works 4–6 hours under typical partial-load tasks like sweeping, mulching, or mowing. The e100 V Vario offers a slightly higher operating time of 4–7 hours under similar conditions. However, the operating time may be reduced during more energy-intensive tasks, such as transporting heavy loads through mountainous terrain or operating a snow blower after heavy snowfall. Even with such tasks, the operating cycle remains highly efficient, with the potential for extended working times at lower loads.
Working in the Energy Cycle: A Closed Loop of Sustainability
One of the standout features of the Fendt e100 Vario series is its integration into the broader energy ecosystem. Many municipalities and non-agricultural enterprises already have infrastructure for generating renewable energy, and when these tractors are charged with green electricity, they are entirely CO2-neutral. This creates a closed energy cycle, from energy generation to its end use in the tractor. The result is a significant reduction in CO2 emissions and operating costs for municipalities, airports, and businesses.
For example, when the Fendt e100 V Vario is charged using renewable electricity sources, such as the German Green Electricity Mix of 2023, it achieves a lower CO2 footprint than a comparable diesel-powered tractor after just 800 hours of use. Furthermore, the e100 Vario series can be used safely indoors without the risk of harmful exhaust fumes, making them ideal for tasks inside closed spaces, such as warehouses or buildings.
