7 reasons to consider the MF35 for your small farm

With the global economic situation seemingly worsening many have turned to farming to assist with income and food generation. Massey Ferguson has identified this need and thus introduced a new entry-level tractor that is ideal for small scale farming. The MF35 looks to be a worthy contender in the entry-level tractor market. Here are some reasons why.
Engine
Powering the MF35 is a tried and tested water cooled Perkins A3.152, This 2.4-litre 3-cyl diesel develops 33.2kW/137Nm and features a low rated engine speed which improves durability, economy and operator comfort. Due to the simple design of the engine the MF35 is easy to maintain and reduced downtime should repair work be needed. The MF35 also offers decent power to weight thanks to its some 1351kg weight figure.
Transmission
The MF35 makes use of an easy to use transmission with 6 forward and 4 reverse gears has been designed for ease of use as well as durability and reliability. Well-spaced gears also allow for a wide range of tasks and the gear sequences allow for quick speed selection when needed.
Rear linkage
Easy to use controls enable the operator to set and operate various implements that they require. Telescopic stabilisers have been added which allow for quick attachment of category 1 or 2 implements. The hitch also has a lift capacity of a maximum lift capacity of 1100kg. This means that a choice of matched implements including cultivation, planting and haulage can be fitted.
Hydraulic system
The MF35 makes use of a tried and tested oil immersed pump which keeps the pump cool and allows for the implementation of a simple oil filtration system. This design offers reliability and reduced downtime.
Operator environment
Despite its relatively simple design, the MF35 offers decent operator comfort. Designers have introduced a footstep configuration which reduces mud build-up which improves safety when accessing the operator station. This setup also improved ground clearance and the analogue/digital display is not only clear but easy to understand.
Rear axle
The MF35 featured direct drive which reduces complexity as well as power loss. This proven design offers reliability over long periods of time. The MF35 also features a highly effective braking system which is easy to service. The direct drive PTO also minimizes drive loss to the rear wheels which improves performance.
Front axle
The MF35 has been praised for its ease of use and manoeuvrability in small spaces. The low complexity power steering is also a bonus for small scale farmers and the adjustable track width matches wheel widths to the required track.
