Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2.8GD VX-R (2025) Review

Toyota has once again changed the game for luxury offroaders with the new Prado. The Prado falls at the upper end of the spectrum, bracketed by the Land Cruiser 300 at the sharp end and the Fortuner at the lower end. We drive the Prado to find out if this is the best Land Cruiser Toyota has made yet.

Toyota's Land Cruiser range runs the gamut of rough and ready, with the 70 Series up to the luxury Overlander at the 300 Series. The new Prado replaces the old 200 Series machine, which had always been the premium 4x4 of choice in the middle, to tackle a comfortable trail. Has the new Prado filled the gap left by the departure of the old 200? We put the VX-R Prado to task at Legends Adventure and MX Park to find out.
