Chinese automaker Chery has gone from strength to strength locally and continues to grow continuously, expanding its footprint and introducing new and exciting models and derivatives to its lineup of crossovers and SUVs. One of the latest model derivatives to be released is the slightly updated and DCT-equipped Chery Tiggo 4 Pro, and we are extremely happy to welcome this new model into our long-term test fleet.

Change is good
The interior of the Tiggo 4 Pro has been updated slightly, with an updated centre console that adds storage space and a 15W wireless charging pad, a touch-screen climate control panel and an improved infotainment system that sports a higher resolution screen and wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay services.
The biggest change in this update is the DCT transmission. The CVT-equipped model we drove earlier this year returned 9.4 L/100km, while this newcomer is averaging 12.7 km/L or 7.8 L/100km; however, as with the previous model we tested, the vehicle has minimal run-in kilometers on the clock, so the fuel economy should improve as the engine loosens up.

With the compact crossover segment exploding in popularity, manufacturers are constantly trying to outdo one another by offering more features in their fast-moving models. Chery has listened and is a forerunner when it comes to jam-packing tech and features into their vehicles, and this new Tiggo 4 Pro is sure to be welcomed by enthusiastic consumers.
