If you’re looking to sell or trade-in your Audi Q3, or you’re just curious to know whether you’ll be able to get a good price for it later, take a look…

The Audi Q3 was introduced here in 2012 and was immediately a hit, becoming one of the top sellers in the premium compact SUV segment. In its first three years more than 5 000 examples were sold before an update was introduced in mid-2015.

Initially a strong performance orientation

The focus on the Q3 range has shifted over the years. At launch there was a strong performance leaning, with the exciting RS Q3 Quattro employing a vocal five-cylinder turbocharged petrol power unit to deliver 228 kW and 470 Nm of torque. This enabled 0-100 km/h times in the mid-five-second bracket!

Initially the range consisted of a 1,4-litre petrol model in either manual or automatic, a two-litre turbocharged petrol model available only in automatic, a two-litre turbodiesel, and the aforementioned RS.

Now the range has been rationalised, with the RS model dropped, unfortunately, and currently only three engine variants are available with two of them diesels.

The current range

The entry-level model is the Q3 1.4 TFSI S, which sells for R532 500, boasting 110 kW and 250 Nm of torque. Next up is the 2.0 TDI S (R549 00), also with 110 kW, but with diesel levels of torque at 340 NM. These models are both front-wheel-drive offerings.

The top model is the Q3 2.0 TDI Quattro, an all-wheel-drive model, also using a two-litre diesel, but boosted to 135 kW and 380 Nm. Performance is now of the “moderate” variety throughout the range, with the quickest-accelerating model, the diesel Quattro, just braking into the seven-second bracket for the 0-100 km/h sprint.

The Q3 in brief

The Q3 is a highly-rated car and has maintained good residual values in the nine years that it has been on the market. It has all the safety systems and top-notch levels of build quality that you would expect of an Audi, especially in the interior.

Discover what your used Audi Q3 is worth

The quickest and easiest way to find out what your used Audi Q3 is worth is to set AutoTrader’s invaluable What's it Worth tool to work. Simply click on the link, enter the make, model and year of your car and push the “result” button. You will then access an average market related price for your car. The tool calculates an estimated selling price based on all adverts on our site listed for sale for your make and model. For an accurate evaluation, you will need to visit your nearest dealer as the trade in value will be based on the overall condition of your car and service history.

These are average prices

Take note that these prices are an average across the model range. If you have an entry-level model you should expect your car to be worth less than the average trade price listed, whereas a top- level model will be worth more. Options fitted to your car, or the lack of them, will also play a part in the price.
