What is covered under the Hyundai Atos manufacturer warranty?

We check out the warranty offered by Hyundai on the diminutive Atos.

The 7-year / 200 000km warranty is consists of a full 5-year / 150 000km overall warranty, related to potential manufacturing defects. This excludes normal wear and tear, with reasonable limitations.The additional 2 years / 50 000km (making up the remainder of the 7 years / 200 000km) cover the drivetrain of the vehicle against manufacturing defects.

Hyundai Automotive South Africa also gives a 3-year / unlimited warranty on all genuine Hyundai mechanical parts bought from a Hyundai dealer. Apart from the warranty above, Hyundai also provides a service plan for 1 years / 15 000 km. 

 

What is NOT covered?

All car warranties are limited, and Hyundai’s is no exception. These are the limitations:

  • All material related to friction are only covered for 1 year / 20 000km (e.g. clutch plate or brake pads), and only in the case of manufacturing defects.
  • The battery is covered for 2 years / 40 000km.
  • The infotainment system is covered for 3 years / 60 000km
  • Panel perforation / Rust warranty is 5 years / 150 000km
  • Rubber products / mouldings and gators: 1 year / 20 000km
  • Wiper blades are consumables and are not covered by warranty
  • Light bulbs have no warranty
  • Non-service related fluid refills
