The Fiat Tipo hatchback is offered in three trim levels; Easy, Pop and Lounge, and all three come fitted with a 6-speed manual gearbox. While the sedan derivatives only come in either Easy or Pop trim levels, there is a 6-speed automatic transmission available with the 1.6-litre engined variant in Easy guise.

Warranty

Included in the purchase price of either the Fiat Tipo sedan or hatchback derivatives is a 3-year / 100 000 km warranty which not only acts as a promise of the brand's quality but also provides peace of mind. The warranty is attached to the vehicle and should you own or purchase a used Fiat Tipo, the remaining warranty should remain intact provided that the vehicle is not damaged from an accident or modified by the previous owner.

Exclusions

During operation, every component of your Fiat Tipo either experience wear and tear or is put under strain, however, some degrade quicker than others. These parts are typically excluded from the warranty and sometimes included in the vehicle's service plan. Here is a list of parts, functions and services that is excluded from the warranty:

• Normal wear and tear of the vehicle components

• Wheel balancing

• Wheel alignment

• Corrosion in the fuel system

• Replacement of lubricants and other fluids

• Accessories not part of standard equipment fitted to the vehicle during manufacturing

• Filters

• Wiper arms and blades

• Drive belts for the alternator, water pump and air conditioner

• Clutch plate and pressure plate whether it is because of normal wear or due to improper usage

• Components that require replacement during the services period

• Tyres and wheels

Warranty conditions

For a vehicle to remain covered under the manufacturer warranty, the owner needs to adhere to conditions set out in the vehicle's warranty agreement. First and foremost, the owner needs to service the vehicle at an official Fiat dealership at the intervals stipulated in the service schedule included in the owners' manual. Services executed by third party service centres will void the warranty.

To retain warranty coverage when if your vehicle sustains damage, ensure that the vehicle is repaired at Fiat dealership or Fiat approved repair centre. Fiat doesn't cover components that are not genuine Fiat parts. Any modifications to the vehicle might also see components directly affected by the modification to lose their cover.

Service Plan

Also included in the purchase price of the Fiat Tipo is a 3-year / 100 000 km service plan. This plan requires the owner to book an appointment with a Fiat dealership of their choice, at the intervals stipulated in the vehicle's owners' manual. The service plan covers the cost of servicing the vehicle for 3-years or 100 000km, whichever occurs first and keeps the warranty intact.
