Unlimited you say?
Kia is so committed to making your ownership of one of their models a great experience that they have updated their manufacturer warranty and you now get an unlimited kilometre / 5 year warranty on every single vehicle that they offer.
That is quite an offer so we did some research and came away with the following info as to what exactly they cover in their warranty for the Kia Picanto.
The warranty covers:
- Defects in manufacture, materials and workmanship
- Warranty begins on the date of first registration.
- The warranty covers any part that needs to be replaced and work done.
- The warranty is transferable to a new owner as long as it is within the allotted period.
- Exclusions apply.
Warranty exclusions:
- AC refrigerant is covered for first 12 months regardless of mileage
- Battery is covered for first 6 months regardless of mileage.
- OEM Audio system is covered for first 3 years / 100 000kms.
- Trim pieces are covered for first 6 months.
- Paintwork is covered for first 6 months or 100 000km's
- Brake pads are covered against defects for 20 000kms or first 12 months.
- Rubber components ( hoses, oil seals and weather strips ) are covered for 60 months or 60 000km's
- Wiper blades are covered for first 3 months or 4500km's
- Drive belts are covered for defects for 12 months or 20 000km's

It should be noted that the above items are only covered as specified if all scheduled maintenance is adhered to, only genuine KIA parts as used and work is carried out at authorised KIA centres.
Warranty will not be applicable under situations of neglect, abuse, environmental conditions, normal wear and tear and failure to keep to the maintenance schedule.
Fitting of unauthorised parts and accessories will also void warranty.
If you are still unsure as to what the KIA warranty covers you can download a copy of the warranty conditions and the owners manual for their website.
