What is covered under Hyundai Accent manufacturers warranty?

Hyundai's mid level sedan, the Accent, may not be setting any sales records but it is still a solid choice for a car. What makes it even better is the manufacturer warranty that comes with your purchase. We take a look at what Hyundai has bundled together on the Accent to give you total peace of mind.

Now entering its fifth generation, the Hyundai Accent has enjoyed a fair amount of sales success in South Africa. From the bulbous 1st generation to the latest sharp lined sedan, the Accent has been around for well over 20 years and continues to enjoy support from the consuming public but it isn't all the car, its what Hyundai does to in-still confidence in their products.

Hyundai is very confident in their products, so much so that they are one of the only auto manufacturer that offers a 7 year / 200 000km warranty on their vehicles, including the Accent.

 

Extended cover

After reading through the warranty terms and conditions we were able to ascertain the following.

 

  • This extended warranty applies to all Hyundai vehicles purchased after 1 February 2016.
  • The warranty is actually a Basic 5 year / 150 000km covering everything and then an extended drivetrain warranty of 2 years / 50 000 km, totalling 7y / 200 000km.
  • The basic warranty covers all the standard things such as manufacturing defects, defective materials or build issues.
  • The clutch and associated equipment are only covered for 1 year or 20 000kms, whichever comes first.
  • The rubber components of the driveline are only covered for 1 year or 20 000kms.
  • Torque converters are only covered for the basic warranty period.
  • Wear parts cannot be warrantied unless there is a mechanical failure.
  • The radio is covered for 3 years / 60 000kms
  • The battery is covered for 2 years / 40 000kms.
