What are the correct tyre pressures for your Datsun Go?

If you are all pumped up with your new Dastun Go, make sure you inflate the tyres sufficiently to match your enthusiasm

The new, face-lifted version of the Datsun Go was launched to the media in late October, but with an official introduction date on the South African market in mid-November 2018. The most important change to the new version is that the Go now comes standard with dual airbags, for the driver and front seat passenger.

Other changes include new frontal styling with new headlights and grille, and inside there is a new, more sophisticated dashboard design with a touch-screen infotainment pod taking pride of place in the centre of the dashboard. For information on the Datsun Go launch,  click here

Another change is the relocation of the handbrake to a traditional position between the front seats.

The Datsun Go is currently available here in two models. These are the Datsun Go 1.2 Mid at R144 500 and the Datsun Go Lux at R165 000. A downside of the new equipment levels is that the price has risen sharply over the previous models.

The Lux model is equipped with smart black-and-polished metal alloy wheels, while the Mid model is equipped with more modest steel wheels and wheel caps. However, both models use the same tyre size. The standard sizing for both front and rear wheels is 165/70 R 14.

The recommended tyre pressures for both steel and alloy wheel models are as follows:

Front: 240 kPa (2,4 bar) lightly laden. 240 kPa (2,4 bar) fully laden

Rear: 240 kPa (2,4 bar) lightly laden 300 kPa (3,0 bar) fully laden.
