The correct tyre pressures for the Ford Figo range from 2015 to May 2018

Inflating your car’s tyres to the correct pressure  not only ensures a longer tyre life, but is vital for safe, sure handling. Manufacturers carefully specify  tyre sizes and pressures according to a whole bunch of considerations, taking into account the car’s orientation, its body and suspension specifications and the wheel sizes specified. Tyre pressures have generally increased over the past few decades as tyre profiles have become lower, even with the more basic models.                                                                   

Ford’s Figo is one of those model-continuation success stories that has found favour as an entry level model, both here and abroad. Although it is built in India, it has its original heritage in an earlier-generation Ford Fiesta, and since then has built on its acceptance to find favour as a model with its own particular flavour.

The range here was launched in 2010, and in 2015 a new model was launched. In June this year a new face-lifted 2018 model was announced. Our guide concentrates rather on the models available here until the June 2018 update, as we found that this car is not yet commonly available in all Ford dealerships yet.

The Figo is a fairly modest car, built with reliability and low-cost in mind rather than any sporting orientations. Thus it is specified with fairly small diameter wheels and higher-profile tyres than some competitors.

Ford generally specifies a common set of tyre pressures for Figos across the range. As already mentioned this tyre pressure guide does not include the new face-lifted Figo, as they are not yet generally available across all dealerships. But we do not expect the tyre pressures on the new model to vary much, if at all, from the ones given here, even though the entire range has been rationalised with a new 1,5-litre three-cylinder engine.

In the time period we concentrate here, from 2015 until May 2018, the Figo was available with a range of modest diesel and petrol engines.

The tyre pressures given are for all the sedan and hatchback models in the range. All pressures are given for tyres when cold. Tyres naturally gain pressure slightly when heated up by road use.
