How to top up windscreen washer fluid on a Fiat 500X.

We show you how to top up the windscreen washer fluid in your Fiat 500X.

A clean and clear windscreen is critical to safe driving. Dirt and debris on your windscreen impairs your vision and can be hazardous to you and those on the road with you.

Windscreen washer fluid will allow you to clear your windscreen without having to stop alongside the road or force you to locate a garage. 

Here's how you can check your fluid levels and top up if necessary.

Step-by-step

1. Open the bonnet with the catch under the dashboard.
2. Locate the windscreen washer fluid bottle – on the Fiat 500X, it's behind the passenger-side headlight and has a yellow cap.
3. Open the cap to check the fluid level – if no fluid is visible, you will need to add.
4. Fill the with windscreen washer fluid (diluted according to the instructions on the bottle) or clean water.
5. Fill to approximately 1cm from the top edge of the bottle.
6. Replace the cap ensuring that it is securely fastened.
7. Test to see that the system works effectively.
