Unobstructed visibility is integral to the safety of your driving experience. Whether it's just dust or it's something more severe, like bug splatter, your windscreen washer jets require washer fluid (or water at the bare minimum) to help clear your line of sight.
If you're receiving a low washer fluid level warning on your dashboard, you may be low on washer fluid. It's worth noting that this light may be triggered when the vehicle is parked on an incline, so ensure your vehicle is parked on level ground before setting out to refill the fluid.

Here's how you can do this task yourself in a matter of minutes with no special tools.
You will need:
- Washer fluid or clean water (you can substitute a few drops of dish soap if desired)
- a soft cloth
- 5-minutes to spare
How to:
1. Ensure the vehicle is off and pull the bonnet release.
2. Open the bonnet and secure it with the provided stay.
3. Locate the washer fluid reservoir cap. On the XK it's on the driver's side, behind the wheel and ahead of the windscreen. The blue cap is the one you're looking for.
4. Open the cap.
5. Fill with the washer fluid/water up to the brim. Note that a small amount of water may leak out, this is normal.
6. Replace the cap and close the bonnet.
7. Test the system.
