Hyundai’s Venue was introduced here in November 2019, which means that all Venues driving around South Africa will still very much be under warranty. This generally means that any under-bonnet maintenance should be left to your Hyundai dealer. If you start tinkering away on a Venue mechanical component at home, you will be invalidating the terms of the excellent Hyundai warranty, which lasts for seven years.
Topping up the screen washer is a task that you can do.
But, like ensuring that your car’s tyres are correctly inflated, keeping the windscreen washer fluid topped up is something you can and should do on a regular basis. Keeping a clear windscreen on your car is a key part of your motoring enjoyment and safety.
The screen washer bottle has a flip-up cap that requires no tools to open, and it isn’t pressurised, which means there is no danger of spraying any fluids into the engine compartment.
Venue screen washer step-by-step guide
1. Open the bonnet and identify the windscreen washer container. When viewing the engine bay from the front, this container is at the front left side, and has a bright blue cap.
2. The cap is opened by inserting your finger or thumb under the large tab on the cap, and simply flipping it up.
3. The cap has a retaining catch so that it won’t get lost when you open up the container.
4. You can use tap water to top up the washer fluid. We recommend topping up to a level a few centimetres below the top of the container spout. Special screen washer fluids with extra cleaning properties can also be bought from your dealer or spares shops. But tap water is cheapest, and it does the job very well.
If you have any doubt about where the windscreen washer bottle is located, we suggest consulting the owner’s manual, or visiting your dealer for advice.
