With most modern cars moving over to LED type headlights, the need to replace headlight bulbs is greatly decreased, there are however still plenty of cars on our roads that use standard halogen headlamp bulbs and unfortunately, they don't last forever and need to be replaced.
Replacing these bulbs isn't that hard to do and can be done in a matter of minutes with no tools required.
So let's get to it!
- Locate the back of the headlight cluster in the engine bay.
- Find the screw cap that covers the bulb housing and remove it by turning counter-clockwise.
- Remove the connector plug from the back of the bulb.
- Locate the spring clip that secures the bulb in place and unclip it.
- Carefully remove the old bulb.
- Insert new bulb into the housing and replace the spring clip, securing the bulb in place.
- Replace the electrical plug and put the bulb cover back.
PRO TIP: Make sure not to touch the glass of the bulb as oils on your skin transfer onto the bulb and burn into place
