Power up!
Volkswagens foray into the small city car segment featured the youthful and funky up!. It was hard to peg the up! against rivals due to the fact that it was much better equipped than its closest competitor but was also substantially more expensive.

With the average lifespan of a car battery being roughly 2-3 years and the up! now being a few years old you may find that your up! requires a new one.
Not a problem though, as we can show you how to easily replace yours right at home.
You will need:
- Replacement battery of correct amperage and size
- 10mm socket and driver
- 13mm socket
Let's get it done
1. Open the bonnet
2. Locate the battery
3. Remove the plastic cover from the distribution box
4. Use 10mm to remove connecting bolt that holds the distribution block to the positive terminal and move aside
5. Remove negative (-) terminal
6. Remove positive (+) terminal
7. Use 13mm to remove the hold down bracket
8. Exchange battery
9. Assemble in reverse order
