The average life span of a car battery is roughly 3 years. If you are having trouble starting your car, you may need a new one, and we can show you how to replace the unit in your Fortuner in no time at all.

We are going to show you how to do it in a few easy steps with just a few tools and some elbow-grease.

 

You will need:

 

  • New battery
  • 10mm, 12mm, 13mm wrenches and socket set (depending on year model)

 

Let's get started!

 

1. Open the bonnet.

 

2. Using the selection of wrenches, undo and remove the negative battery terminal.

 

3. Undo and remove positive battery terminal.

 

4. Loosen and back off the retaining nuts on the bracket holding the battery in place. 

 

5. Remove battery and install the new one.

 

6. Install bracket bolts, tighten down the bracket and replace terminals, positive terminal first.
