How to replace the car battery on a Mercedes-AMG C-Class

We show you how to replace the car battery on your Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

The average lifespan of a car battery is roughly 2-3 years before it begins to degrade. The battery's performance will get worse with time and is only accelerated if the vehicle has a great deal of electrically dependent systems.

You will need:

  • New battery of correct amperage and size for your model
  • 10mm, 13mm sockets + extension and driver

 

Let's get it done

1. Open the bonnet.

 

2. Locate the battery cover.

 

3. Remove the battery cover by undoing the 3 retaining clips.

 

4. Undo the negative terminal with a 10mm spanner.

 

5. Undo the positive terminal with a 10mm spanner.

 

6. Using a 13mm socket and an extension, undo the 13mm bolt that holds down the retaining bracket on the right side of the battery.


7. Replace the battery with the new one.

 

8. Install everything in the reverse order.
